Since our first year of camp in 2017, The Delaware KIDS Fund has been able to raise enough money to purchase 5,937 coats for every student at 11
different elementary schools (Richey Elementary, Richardson Park Elementary, Richardson Park Early Learning Center, Pulaski Elementary, Warner Elementary, Baltz Elementary School, Elbert Palmer Elementary, Thomas Edison Charter, Stubbs Elementary, Shortlidge Academy and The Bancroft School). The camping out campaign has raised over $121,000 with 100% of that money going to the purchase of brand new Operation Warm coats.
Camping out in Newport represents a commitment to warming up local children in need physically and mentally. The camping conditions are a bit chilly (and loud) with nearby Route 141 positioned next to the camp site… but at the end of the day, it’s about supporting our next generation of community. It’s more than a coat.
