The DKF broke last year’s “year-end appeal” record – by raising an all- time fundraising high of $34,007 during their annual appeal. The KIDS Fund beat their goal by $8,000 and since 2008, the KIDS Fund and Harvey, Hanna & Associates team has collected over $132,000 from their annual appeal. Held every year during the holiday season, the program was designed to combat the food insecurity issue amongst Delaware children. Currently, 1 in 5 kids suffer from food insecurity.

The DKF broke an all-time KIDS Fund record by raising $21,000 during their annual appeal held in December. Each year during the Holidays, the DKF and Harvey, Hanna & Associates team focuses on raising funds for Delaware’s hungry children as 1 in 5 suffer from food insecurity. 28 local businesses and 50 individuals helped the KIDS Fund beat their goal by $6,000. The total amount raised will help purchase 60,000 meals for local kids in need during the winter season.

Now more than ever we need to accelerate our efforts. As we approach this Holiday season, Delaware KIDS Fund will continue its efforts to alleviate hunger in Delaware for children and their families. Demand at Delaware food banks continues to mount, with demand exceeding supply. Now more than ever we must help food banks through the holidays and into 2012.
